progreso de la humanidad. La investiga-
ción es una actividad innata al ser humano,
donde su importancia radica en su aplica-
ción.
La investigación cientíca es una actividad
organizada y rigurosa, sistemática, empí-
rica y crítica (Popper, 1980). El hecho de
ser sistemática demuestra que presenta una
estructura y organización; que existe dis-
ciplina en la realización. El ser empírica
radica en la colecta y análisis de los datos.
El ser crítica signica que se evalúa cons-
tantemente siendo susceptible de mejorar.
Siempre se empleará un método para lle-
varla a cabo evitando así la casualidad. Es
dinámica, cambiante y evolutiva (Sagan,
1978).
La investigación experimental: “conduce
a conclusiones más claras y contribuye a
despejar el problema social que está siendo
estudiado, cuando las condiciones no son
problemáticas o la creatividad y el ingenio
pueden resolver problemas difíciles”; de
ahí la importancia en desarrollar la ense-
ñanza de las ciencias (Reicken et al., 1974,
como se citó en Cook y Reichardt, 1986,
p. 77).
Delval, J. (2013) menciona que “La cien-
cia es una forma racional de aproximación
a la realidad” (p. 56); sin el desarrollo de
la misma, no habría avances tecnológicos
ni la comprensión del mundo que nos ro-
dea. El valor formativo del conocimiento
cientíco desde la educación escolar es
primordial; Oppenheimer (2006), opina
que, dentro de múltiples factores a subsa-
nar, sobre todo en países de América Lati-
na, se requiere de la ciencia para desarro-
llar tecnología y viceversa; donde ambas
herramientas deberán ser utilizadas como
requerimiento para resolver problemas
sustentables. La enseñanza de las ciencias
en todos los niveles educativos debe pro-
mover la actitud, capacidad de explora-
ción, creatividad e innovación destacando
el desarrollo intelectual (Ordoñez, 2015).
A través del tiempo, el proceso de ense-
ñanza aprendizaje de las ciencias, se ha
llevado a cabo en tres períodos de acuerdo
con Badillo et al. (2002, como se citó en
Torres y Sánchez, 2019). En el primero,
los docentes demostraban los experimen-
tos a los estudiantes pasivos. En el segundo
período, los discentes reproducían notas o
recetas sin pensar críticamente. En el ter-
cer período - aún en construcción - del pro-
ceso antes mencionado, los docentes cum-
plen la función de acompañantes o guías
de los estudiantes, en el mismo se fomenta
el pensamiento crítico y los estudiantes se
involucran en sus propios aprendizajes.
Aprender signica cambio, experiencia,
permanencia, así como actitudes y emo-
ciones; no solo conocimiento y destrezas.
Se establece en cada momento de la vida y
puede ser deliberado o consciente. No es
únicamente almacenar información, sino
un proceso global que abarca a la persona
en su conjunto y que la lleva a percibir, ac-
tuar y comprender de distinta manera. Es
un proceso dinámico que permite la mo-
dicación de pautas de conducta que está
en continuo movimiento, involucrando a
la persona en su totalidad. Afecta no solo
los pensamientos de un individuo, sino el
conjunto de emociones con los que actúa
(Zarzar, 1982).
En el plano educativo, se considera el
aprendizaje como la aprehensión de cono-
cimientos dentro del aula, la adquisición
de habilidades prácticas o técnicas enmar-
cadas hacia una futura vida profesional; de
forma que un buen aprendizaje se asocia,
